Tours of the Tales
The tour takes your through the Palace of Fine Arts where a scene with Mary Ann and Burke in the "More Tales of the City" miniseries was filmed.
The walk along the Marina takes you to places mentioned in Tales of the City, More Tales of the City, and Sure of You, eventually taking you to the Marina Safeway which spurred what would eventually be the Tales lore.

The three preceding walking tours (i.e., #8: The Castro and Noe Valley; #9: SOMA; and #10: Civic Center, the Other Edge of the Tenderloin, and Polk Street) featured many LGBT locales found in Armistead Maupin’s books. This tour highlights some of the straight locales prowled by Brian and Connie.
Two locales included in this tour played a role in the precursor to the "Tales of the City" serial in The San Francisco Chronicle.
One highlight of this tour is a stop at Perry's - where Brian Hawkins waited tables in the mid-70s through early 80s.
The tour also includes two places where Armistead Maupin worked prior to creating the opportunity to launch Tales of the City. One of these places was the model for the Bay Area Crisis Hotline. And the place also has a lych gate.
